Nestled in the picturesque Hood River Valley, between Mt.
Adams and Mt. Hood, Mt. Hood Organic Farms is situated on the Jacobson family's
210-acre retreat. Wander the orchard trails or go a half-mile north on Smullin
Road to find a trailhead to hiker's and mountain biker's paradise. Challenge
yourself with miles of trails that crisscross Bald Butte and the valley's
eastern ridge. These remote trails reward you with spectacular views of
the mountains and pastoral scenes below.
Explore more than a mile of a wild and scenic river that
originates on Mt. Hood's glaciers and flows through the property on its
way to the Columbia. Wander through the grounds, which incorporate English-style
gardens, native plants, and herb and vegetable gardens. Read a book or have
lunch under the grape arbor. Take the short hike through the pear orchard,
past the treehouse, to Evening Lake for a swim or a picnic and watch osprey
dive for trout. From the lake, you can catch a glimpse of Mt. Rainier as
well as Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood.
"Incredible place for a family reunion. Harmony, peace and beauty abound
in a time when the world is so out of balance."
- Mr. & Mrs. Gewins
